I recogniced the breed of horse you had pictured. I have had quite a few half arabs. I preferred the part breds. I had four purebred arabs in my barn. One was the national champion dressage horse before I got him. He was eighteen years old when he came to my barn. My sister bought him and was having him transported to her, she also instructed the hauling company not to pick him up if he was the slightest bit thin. He was so skinny and weak he went down on the van. Someone called one of the 'do gooder groups' and they were going to have him put down. My sister callled me and gave me the number of the 'pros'. He was down on the berm of a four lane highway. I called them and told them to get that horse on the van and head to my farm. It took six people to drag him into my indoor arena. They wanted money I told them I had a shotgun that worked as good as money. They left. You could touch his eyeballs and not get a reflex. I had a vet waiting of course. Long story short we kept him alive and fit to travel in six months. We had shifts every six hours watching him. I actually took my kids out of school on their day of shift. We did keep him welll enough to travel to my sisters. l never want to see any animal in that condition. He lived four years and died as he dismounted a mare he was breeding. The filly was named Grand Finale. . Spelling may not be correct but I'm sure you understand. There is more about him, maybe another time. Delta
